What is Breader?

“Breader” stands for “Web Reader”, as “Blog” stands for “Web Log”. Breader is basically a bookmarking app, slim and without big cards for each bookmark, like other bookmarking apps. It is meant to easily add something to your reading list, while browsing the web, to read later, either via the extension, or by sending it to the installed mobile application.

Philosophy

Bookmarks are like files that can be placed in folders, where the folders are the tags. A bookmark can have multiple tags, so it will appear under every tag. Tags have a hierarchy, and you can create nested structures by dragging a tag onto another tag.

As long as you don’t sync across devices, your data stays private and is stored locally in your browser (in the IndexDB to be precise). With the web extension you can add bookmarks to your reading list while browsing. On your phone, you can install it as a progressive web app (PWA), and share URLs you would like to save to the app.

Key Features

Sync across devices

Breader uses DexieCloud for sync across devices. To enable sync, you need to log in with an email adress. You will get a 30 days trial period, which only counts for days when you are actively using Breader. To upgrade to a full version you need to contact info@breader.app
